After all the waiting and hard work, the big day has finally arrived! The excitement among staff made for a perfect first day! Students entered the building and were met with applause by staff. They were given plenty of time to soak in the new surroundings and then head back to enjoy their new classrooms!

It was soooo hard not to be there today when the bus’s arrived!! Since I work with the Early Intervention Program I was at a home based session. It was great to see these pictures of some of my EI babies entering their beautiful new school!

It was a wonderful first day of school!! Many of the children showed their excitement as they walked through the lobby and down the hallway to the classrooms. I feel honored to be a part of this new adventure with the best staff ever!!
Finally got into the building this afternoon while the children were still there. It is so bright and cheerful- really an amazing space. The long hallways that were so overwhelming on moving day for the staff are now an extension of the classrooms! It was like a parade while I was there. The highlight? Construction continues outside- and there is a guy with a huge claw machine clearing concrete. Each scoop resulted in yelling and dancing by one little boy and huge smiles from a little girl. One little one soooo tired and fussy from the day was unwinding with a stroller ride. Quite a few children walked around with staff to stretch their legs, some refining their walker skills.
This building provides the children with such a positive environment, and the staff with so many more options to help a child practice skill, reorganize or relax!
